|Morgan State University Sings Through Italy|
Concerts at Vatican City, Bologna, Pordenone and Milan
Morgan State University performs at the Cathedral of St. Mark in Pordenone, Italy
Morgan State University Choir serenaded their way through a concert tour of Italy, singing to thousands of people in stellar venues along the way. Under the direction of Dr. Eric Conway, the group's 10-day tour was accompanied by a delegation of university administrators, faculty and state legislators.
The concert tour began with a mass at the Vatican in Rome. From there, they traveled to Florence with a vocal masterclass focusing on Italian Opera. Continuing on to Bologna, the choir performed at a festival concert before being hosted by local choirs in Pordenone and Portogruaro for more wonderful concerts. The group concluded their tour with a closing concert in Milan which also featured another Classical Movements client, the Collège Vocal de Laval of Canada.
|"On that day, there were nearly 1,000 people listening to us. The basilica is the premier venue, chorally speaking, and it just seemed appropriate that our choir, like other world-renowned choirs, would be able to share and perform in that space. It was as special for us as singing in Carnegie Hall."|
