Yale Glee Club grand finale concert (Istanbul) in collaboration with the Tekfen Philharmonic and Yale Alumni Chorus to make a grand chorus of 250 singers
The prestigious Yale Glee Club embarked on a 23-day tour through much of Europe in the footsteps of their legendary 1928 tour. Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Douma, concerts were in beautiful spaces and boasted full audiences and the highest level of performance.
The grand finale was in Istanbul, Turkey which YGC visited for the first time. To mark the grand celebration of 150 years of singing, the Yale Alumni Chorus, consisting of 200 alumni and family,
Yale Glee Club in concert at the Sorbonnejoined them in concert in Istanbul with the Tekfen Philharmonic. The opening piece was a new work commissioned for them called A Dream and A Song by Colin Britt and the beautiful concert, which included Vaughn Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem and other highlights, ended to rapturous applause and a wide range of appreciation from local press throughout Istanbul.
