Classical Movements, in association with The Choral Institute of South Africa - CHORISA, is pleased to announce the addition of a brand new program to its list of international music festival offerings - the Ihlombe! South African Choral Festival. The inaugural Ihlombe! Festival, taking place July 8-20, 2009 at dynamic venues in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Soweto and Stellenbosch, South Africa, will include at least 24 choral directors, 16 workshops with renowned choral leaders, 12 concerts - including individual and joint choral performance opportunities, thrilling choral exchanges, 1000 participants and 2 new music commissions. All Festival participants will also experience spectacular sightseeing opportunities, including a visit to a South African Game Park, as well as exhilarating cultural interactions such as African drumming, dancing, and South Africa's unique harmonious choral traditions.

The festival is open to talented adult and children's choirs from around the world, opening the door to occasions of incredible music-making, plus the opportunity for valuable international cultural and interpersonal fellowship, fostering life-long friendships that reach around the world. Visit our Ihlombe! section to learn how your choir can be a part of this very special and memorable event. Mark your calendars for the 2010 Ihlombe! South African Choral Festival taking place July 28 - August 9, 2010.
