Performances at Ely Cathedral, Hampton Court Palace and Wessex

In July, The University of Maryland Chamber Singers, under the direction of Edward McClary, went on an 11 day tour, multiple concert tour of England and Wales.
The Chamber Singers held three concerts at major English venues such as Ely Cathedral and Hampton Court Palace as well as a joint concert with the Wessex Male Choir at the Church of the Holy Rood. The choir performed works by Brahms, Dering, Penderecki, Poulenc and Hogan.
In Cambridge, the choir was fortunate enough to attend Evensong at the esteemed King's College Chapel. They were even able to try their hand at punting on the Cam River while enjoying the view of the "Backs" of the Colleges of Cambridge.
The tour concluded with 3 days in Wales where The University of Maryland Chamber Singers represented the United States at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is a world-renowned festival of music, song and dance. The Chamber Singers performed brilliantly and took home the 2nd Place prize in the Mixed Choir category.

"We were delighted with all of the arrangements on our tour of England and Wales. Concert venues and accommodations were excellent and our tour guide became a dear friends and trusted ally. Everyone in the group had a terrific experience."
[EDWARD MACLARY, UMD CHAMBER SINGERS CHORAL DIRECTOR]
